I have been so incredibly stressed this week, trying to get everything ready for my kids drama performance. For those of you who have forgotten, I am a drama teacher. I had 15 girls enrolled in this fall's classes and they performed 3 different plays tonight.
They were amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! And they gave me wonderful presents.
This is me with some of my kids after the plays...sitting in my brand new DIRECTOR'S CHAIR (which says "Drama Queen" on the front and "Director Julie" on the back! It's green. And it has a little beaded fringe. It is the cutest thing ever.)! And they gave me a "megaphone" and the little clapboard you can see in the picture. I wish all the kids were in this picture, but there are a lot of them and they didn't fit!
The last time we counted, there were 112 people in the audience. But more came after that. This is the basement, where we served refreshments after the plays. There were so many people, you couldn't even move. Craziness!!
And in the midst of the after-party...Kayte (my wonderful hair stylist!), Malarie (my amazing friend who came to see the plays and hung out for hours afterward helping me clean up!) and I had amazing fun playing with my hair accessory collection. I got that blue headband for Christmas when I was 10 or 11. I remember begging for it.
Anyway...there are lots more pictures. The facebook album should be up in a couple of days. :)
And in closing - a poem written by a 9-year-old in my class.
Julie! She's the best director I've ever known And I'm completely sure that it's shown That she's the best director yet And we're truly in debt She corrects us when we're wrong (And when she does, it's always long) She always knows what to do And congratulates us when we're through She guides us through the entire play And I will always remember this day.
